SEMINAR ON FORCED DISAPPEARANCES

 

International Law Moot Court Society – Komisi untuk Orang Hilang dan Korban Tindak Kekerasan – Ikatan Keluarga Orang Hilang Indonesia – Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearance – Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Masyarakat

 


ILMS in association with KONTRAS, IKOHI, AFAD and LBH Masyarakat is organizing Seminar on Forced Disappearances as a commemoration of the World Day of Involuntary or Forced Disappearances.

 

The seminar is designed to provide a thorough update to the notorious abduction cases of the 1997-1998 activists in Indonesia, a comparation to similar cases in Asia and Latin America, and legal analysis.

Speaker : Ruth Llanos Executive National of FEDEFAM (Federación Latinoamericana de Asociaciones de Familiares de Detenidos-Desaparecidos)

 

2.      Forced Disappearance Cases in Asia and the Convention on Anti Forced Disappearances

Speaker : Mary Aileen Bacalso – Secretary General of AFAD (Asian Federation against Enforced Disappearance)

 

3.      The Development of Abduction Cases of the 1997-1998 Activists in Indonesia

Speaker : Mugiyanto - The President of IKOHI dan AFAD (Asian Federation against Enforced Disappearance)

 

  1. “Revealing Forced Disappearance Cases: Learning from other Countries”

Speaker : Ari Bassin Staff of International Center for Transitional Justice.

 

This seminar is open and free for all Universitas Indonesia students and compulsory for ILMS members interested in participating in any moot court competition.
